About the Role

If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant General Manager who is going to continue to bring us more ‘oxygen’. Your role will be key to ensuring a smooth daily operation of the pub, delivering excellent customer service, and fostering a warm, friendly atmosphere for our customers.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership: Assist in the day-to-day running of the pub, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and compliance with licensing laws.

Team Management: Supervise and motivate staff, providing training and support to enhance performance.

Customer Experience: Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests, ensuring top-quality service and resolving customer concerns effectively.

Cellar Management: Ensure the cellar is well maintained, beer lines are kept clean (in accordance with the Brewers Association https://www.brewersassociation.org/association-news/importance-draught-beer-line-cleaning/ and that hygiene standards are compliant.

Stock & Inventory: Assist in managing stock levels, placing orders, and reducing waste to maximise profitability.

Financial Support: Help manage budgets, control costs, and oversee cash handling procedures.

Events & Promotions: Support planning and execution of events, live music nights, quiz nights, and community-driven activities.

Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all health, safety, and food hygiene standards are upheld.
What We’re Looking For
-
Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a pub, bar, or hospitality setting.

A passion for great customer service and building relationships within the community.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Experience with stock control, cash handling, and cost management.

Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Personal License preferable.
